Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the Lehigh Valley Trail that runs on the old abandond train bed. I hear about 14 miles of this will be paved in the coming years. Parking can be found on Plains Road at the site of the old Rochester Junction station at: N 42 59.110 W 077 35.882.

You can read more about the Lehigh Valley Trail at the Monroe County Parks web site [http://www.monroecounty.gov/org614.asp?orgID=614&storytypeid=&storyID=&].

There is another web site dedicated to the old Rochester Junction [http://www.trainweb.org/wnyrhs/rochjctFrame1Source1.htm].

And, the Mendon Foundation has a web site dedicated to the trail [http://www.mendonfoundationinc.org/mendonpages/whatnewjan2004.html].

WARNING: The trail is bordered on both sides by private property upon which hunting is known to take place. Be careful walking this trail during hunting season.

This cache is dedicated to all things magnetic. And, since a lot of folks have their refridgerator door loaded with magnets, it seemed like the right name for the cache. It has started out loaded with magnets and magnetic items of various sorts. Feel free to trade whatever sort of items you like. I'll reload a few theme items whenever I do maintenance on the cache. Signature items and travel bugs are always welcome, of course!

The cache container is a .30 caliber ammunition box. Maybe someone will get lucky and find it when their compass goes haywire. And, keep those credit cards at a safe distance now! *grin*
