Several species of smilax thrive at this cache site. If you do not know this plant by this name, you may be familiar with it by its more commonly used name of !@#$%*!. The word smilax is Greek meaning "a cutting or scratching implement". While smilax is used as an herbal medicine in many parts of the world, we can think of nothing good to say about it. Among other supposed medical properties it is said to be a diaphoretic, that is, it causes increased sweating. Again, WHAT GOOD IS IT!
