This park is one for the future. It was opened in 1995, but even
now is rather stark—two-thirds of the park is fenced off from
the public. The drought we have been experiencing since the mid
'Nineties has not done the park any favours, and the lakes are
still far from full.
Eventually, the park will be the location for picnics,
BBQs, and water sports. In the meantime, take the opportunity to
walk around the area that is open; there are plenty of water
birds to be seen, and you can have fun finding golf balls and
trying to throw them back over the fence. You might even see a
dragonfly.
The Cache:
The cache container is a 1.2L Sistema clip-top plastic box. It's
not camouflaged, and it's sitting on top of the ground (which
doesn't mean that you'll be able to see it!). Please take care to
replace the cache in the same position before you leave.
The initial contents are:
Emu
Calculator
Pack of cards
Toy helicopter
"No Junk Mail" sign
Two hair ties
Sticky notes
Screwdriver set
Dragonfly (of course)
