This cache is located near Fishpond Lake in Letcher County, which is surrounded by Little Laurel Park. You will find it on the west side of the lake. It is about halfway down a short - but very steep - path between a turnout for parking and one of the lake's more secluded fishing spots.
It could use some cache-in-trash-out attention, but this is a beautiful, idyllic park that is (believe it or not) partially on reclaimed stripmine land. Fishing is permitted at Fishpond Lake, provided you have appropriate licenses; there are even several universally accesible fishing piers (though not right at the cache location). Non-motorized boating and canoeing are allowed, but swimming is prohibited. The road that winds around the lake doubles as a peaceful 2.5 mile walking track, and interpretive signs placed by the Letcher County Action Team have turned this little roadwalk into a liesurely nature hike. There are also lots of good places around the lake for a picnic. Take your time and enjoy the park while you're here, and don't forget to cache-in-trash-out.
