Geocache Description:

This is one of two caches we are placing at Wilder Ranch State Park. This park is frequented by locals for jogging, mountain biking, horseback riding, school field trips and hiking the trails to observe wildlife and great views, especially along the coastal bluffs. Our family has enjoyed biking here often.

This park has a unique blending of character: 1. An old ranch with ranch animals, historic ranch buildings, picnic tables and a nice visitor's center. 2. There are also many trails overlooking beach cliffs and sensitive wildlife habitats, and then 3. there is the "wilder" portion beyond the cliffs and ranch, with rugged trails, hills and trees. This area is most popular among mountain bikers, horseback riders and joggers, but walking is fun too!

RECOMMENDED PARKING: N36 57.618 W122 05.131 with a State Park pass or $5 parking fee.

PARK RULES: Open 8:00 a.m.to sunset daily. No dogs allowed. Obey all warning and sensitive habitat signs.

Look for a two quart screwtop jar hidden off of a marked trail. There was no poison oak sighted in the area. Original contents: FTF prize, Keychain lazer, Where's George $1 bill, dinosaur fun pack, mini deck of cards, 2 plastic lizards, State Park TB and Little Bear TB.

Enjoy and please log your adventures!
CONGRATULATIONS to friendly four from felton, first to find Mar. 10, 2004!

December 7, 2011 - When ynots4 hid the cache in 2004 there weren't any other geocaches with the name "Wilder" in it. Today I am changing the name to "Wilder Buckeye Cache" because I now know that is the type of tree and nuts dropped at the cache site. A very cool part of visiting I might add, especially in late Fall. ;)
