Geocache Description:

This 3 stage multi-cache will take you around parts of Exeter’s historic Quayside. It was created to celebrate my 100th cache find.

Quayside

By seeking this or any other cache placed by myself or maintained by me you accept responsibility for your own safety. Caching can be dangerous. Assess the risk for yourself before seeking this cache!

Exeter's historic quay has many important buildings dating from the 15th century onwards. The atmosphere around the quay is very tranquil by day. There are plenty of pubs and shops, including many unique craft shops in the converted dockside buildings which were also used for filming scenes in the Onedin Line. By night the area livens up a bit with many pubs and clubs.

The total distance to travel is approximately a mile and a half. You cannot drive your car, but bicycles are allowed. It is almost completely flat, except wheelchairs would have a problem at the final cache location. Parking is available at Pay and Display car parks nearby ("Cathedral and Quay" or "Haven Banks"). Most of the area is waterside with no safety rails. Make sure any children don't go in an for unplanned dip!

It is not advisable to do this one in the dark by torchlight. You may attract attention to yourself and the cache from passers by. The middle stage is also residential, so a torch being shone around could make things difficult. I hope you understand, thanks.

Stage 2: The second stage is a date on a building: jklm. (Look VERY carefully at the digits!)

The co-ordinates for the cache are:
N50° 43.c(k-f)m, W003° 3f.lgg

The cache container is small, so very small swaps only. There is no need to look amongst any litter that may be lying around. It contains a log sheet and pencil.

Please be extra cautious when replacing the cache, as you will almost certainly be seen by onlookers. Try to be furtive! This cache has had a large number of DNF's. The cache is there, but it is very well concealed. Difficulty is high (3.5) because of this. Terrain is mostly 1 (flat), apart from the final cache site (2).

GOOD LUCK!!!!
