"Harmony of Shapes" is a new sculpture in Fremont,
executed by Kyoto Studios of Oakland and installed as part of the
Washington Plaza renovation. The Washington Hospital annex nearby
used to be an Emporium department store, and after it closed the
building and parking lot went downhill. Come take a look now!
The sculpture has been there for awhile but it seems that only
recently have they gotten the bugs out of the plumbing. It's right
on the road to Niles Canyon, so it should be an easy stop and
grab.
This cache is well suited to evening caching - the sculpture is
lit and looks very nice after dark.
Note: The cache is not hidden in any plantings, on, in or
near any equipment cabinets, or under any tanbark. Stay out of the
water (unless it is hot and you want to cool off.)
The name of Washington Hospital echos the days when the Fremont
area was unincorporated and commonly referred to as Washington
Township. The name also appears on nearby Washington High School
and Washington Blvd in Irvington, to name a few.
(TeamAlamo called tonight sounding forlorn, saying "There aren't
any more caches for me to do. So this one's for him.)
