Discover A New Day Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

Discover A New Day everytime you come to this beautiful, fun, scientific, historic, romantic place. Every moment you spend here is precious.

Romantic: I set this cache at dusk and found it very romantic... and I was alone!

Fun: Swim, picnic, sunbath, watch sunbathers, play tag, explore, pontificate ...its all there.

Historic: John Sutter landed here to start his new colony, New Helvetia, which became the City of Sacramento. He wanted Sacramento to be further down the river.

Historic: This was the location of one of the two main ceremony buildings of the local Nishinan indians. (The other was at the village of Kadema, near the northwest end of the Watt Avenue Bridge.)

Scientific: Look at the color change where the Sacramento River meets the American River.

Spend the day here with your family. Explore the beautiful 23 mile American River Parkway. It has 1,400 entrances. It has a million more visitors every year, than Yosemite.

PARKING: Parking is tough if you don't want to pay the park fee.
Alternative One: Park in the nearby business district, near the geocache "The Lion Sleeps Tonight".
Alternative Two: Park your car near the "Pumper" geocache and leave it there. Walk along the bicycle trail to the "Discover A New Day" geocache. Don't forget to pick up the "Pumper" and "Boardwalk" geocaches while you are at it.

Don't hurry through these caches. You will miss too much.

If you see trash in the area, please remove at least one piece and report it in your log. If there is no trash, please log, "Trash Status: Clean".

Opps! I forgot to include a pencil!
