Located atop the mostly wooded peak of Durrell Mountain in Gilmanton. As there is no direct trail, up to a half-mile of bushwhacking is required to reach the cache.
Parking coordinates: N 43° 29.006' W 71° 24.073'Normal cars can park at the above location which is the end of Durrell Mountain Road off Route 107 in Belmont. If you have a 4X4, or don't care about your vehicle, you can drive another quarter mile or so further up the road, to a snowmobile trail gate.You can start by walking along that snowmobile trail to within about a half-mile from the cache, then you are on you own for finding a way up through the typical tree cover and forest litter.Cache contains various trinkets. It originally contained three copies of a Belknap Mountain Range map but those have all been snatched up. But, for a small donation, the maps are still available during the summer months from the Fire Warden atop Belknap Mountain. The topo map charts the many trails and peaks from Whiteface to Gunstock all the way over to Mount Major.
