Someone couldn't find this so I went back today and checked the coordinates. I'm touching them up a little making a 30 foot change. Hope this works better.

Geocache Description:

Come join us for two fun filled days of geocaching and a geocachers meet and greet.

The second annual New York Capital District geocachers picnic will be held on Sept 18 and 19th at John Boyd Thacher State Park.  We have rented the Paint Mine pavilion for both days.  Many of us are camping at Thompson Lake State campground 3 miles away.  Parking at Thatcher Park is $6.00 per vehicle.  Sorry guys but that money is put to good use maintaining this fabulous park.  If you camp at Thompson Lake State  campground you can park at Thacher for free with your receipt from Thompson.

Lunch on Saturday and Sunday will be a potluck lunch so bring a plate to share.  All other meals you are on your own.  As the event draws closer I’ll post a list of who is bringing what.

There are already a few caches in the park with plans to have more in time for the picnic.  We will also have gps and geocaching games of all types for young and old alike.  There will be special night caches set up at Thompson Lake so bring your flashlights.  Saturday evening we will have a bonfire at Thompson Lake Campground, bring your own lawn chairs.

I will post  events here  as plans firm up and a  time schedule here.

If you post a note or email me or Foxgloves with what you are bringing for the potluck dinner Foxgloves will post it here   To view a map of the campsite listing who is on which site click here  compliments of Jeannine.

Make camping reservations at Thompson Lake State Campground ($13.00 per night) through Reserve America .
