This cache is a project of the 2nd and 3rd grade parent involvement class at The Country School of North Hollywood. It was a introductory course in geocaching taught by Wherearewe? with backup from one of our 2nd grade teachers, Saran. This cache is our final project!
This cache is located on Mulholland Drive at Stone Canyon Overlook. From the cache site, you have a great view of Stone Canyon reservoir, which provides water to L.A. The surrounding 225 acres of watershed serve as a wildlife refuge for a wide variety of creatures such as deer, rabbits and hawks. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Catalina Island.
The cache is smaller than an ammo box, and all the kids in the class contributed something to it. Most of our kids became very enthusiastic about geocaching as a result of this class. We hope the kids will come back and visit the site with their parents and friends now that they have been introduced to geocaching. We hope you enjoy it too, it is a beautiful spot to visit.
