Two Dams View - Poway
The location of this cache presents a very nice view of the Lake Poway and Lake Ramona dams. This is one of the best views of these two dams at once as well as a nice view of Lake Poway itself.

This is not an easy hike, but it is not extremely long either. Once you begin your ascent, it is straight uphill. From the trailhead to the peak, you'll gain about 340 feet in elevation. Carefully consider your decision to bring children. And don't over exert yourself; if you are feeling the climb, stop and rest for a bit, even if you have to stop multiple times.

The posted coordinates will place you at the trailhead. A sign will greet you with the words "Scenic Overlook" (where you are headed) and the name of the trail. The second waypoint will be found using the trail name.
A = the number of letters in the first word of the trail name
B = the number of letters in the second word of the trail name
C = B - A
D = B + A
N 33° 00.12C
W 117° 00.67D
This next leg of the hike is the most difficult. It starts out rather benign then suddenly heads straight up the mountain. Take your time going up and be very careful on the way back down.

En route to the next waypoint, you will come upon another signpost with the trail name on it. You will want to turn right (or head southwest) at the junction just past the signpost. There are no more signs directing you to the scenic overlook, but this trail takes you there.

Once you reach the peak which is the prior waypoint you just generated, you'll find a boulder with a metal surveyor's tag affixed to it. There are numbers on that tag to help in determining the location of the cache.
ABC = the only 3-digit number on the metal surveyor's tag
D = A + C
N 33° 00.14B
W 117° 00.68D
The cache, which is a camouflaged ammo box about 12" x 4" x 7", is about 12 feet off the main trail. To reach it, you'll want to come in from behind and above it. The cache may be a little tricky to find, but shouldn't be too difficult. If you can't locate it within about 10 minutes or so, please refer to the clue.
