This cache is not exaclty a multi - and not-exaclty off set give it a spin and let me know what you think.

To start, get the key from the fish hatchery (you have to leave ID) - access is between 10-5 everyday except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Some history:

St. John's Pond, along with nearby Franklin Pond, was part of a three-pond system (the third is now dry) that was created in the 1680's when a dam was built to harness energy needed to power grist- and sawmills. When the industries dried up after the Civil War the area became a popular summer resort. St. John's Episcopal Church was founded just north of the preserve in 1835 and the NYS Fish Hatchery and Cold Spring Harbor Lab were both established around the turn of the century.

The preserve boasts marsh, pond and woodlands and is a popular spot for nature study and bird-watching. Keep your eyes peeled for red foxes, opossum, racoon and eastern moles as well as broad-winged hawks and great horned and screech owls.

Please put everything back the way you found it and tread lightly. As the name implies small items are a must for trading. Bring a pen with you.

Happy Hunting!
