Geocache Description:

Limited Time Offer! Make your plans now! This cache will only be available from the evening of Friday, June 25th through noon, Sunday, June 27th. After that, it will cease to exist and be archived. Take this opportunity to add another find to your cache count as well as participate in this unique geocaching opportunity.

That's right, it's happening yet again. One man and his dog go hide in the woods, and the rest of you come try to find them (and maybe stick around a while and keep them company).

Cache Container: Camouflage Truck Tent

Original Cache Contents:
  • Me
  • Log Book and Pen
  • My Supplies
  • and a bunch of stuff to trade.

The coordinates provided above are merely a start. At those coordinates on Friday afternoon, you'll find a micro-cache with additional coordinates. Follow those coordinates multi-cache style to another set of coordinates, and so on, until you reach your ultimate destination, me. This is necessary since I'm not guaranteed I'll get the exact spot I want, and phoning in the coordinates like I did the first year was just way too difficult. By the time you reach the second to last leg, I'll have updated it with the cache's final location nearby. I'll also have my FRS radio with me, so if you can reach me on that when you get in the neighborhood (Channel 2. No privacy codes. Ask for the Human Geocache), I'll help you shortcut a step or two.

Once you've found the cache, signed the log book, and made a trade, feel free to hang out for a while to chat and see who else shows up. Or better yet, plan to camp out! Just be sure to bring everything you'll need. It'll be a short walk from where you can park, so feel free to over pack. There will not be drinking water available this year, and the nearest convenience store will be 30 miles away, so bring plenty of everything. There should be plenty of room for LOTS of tents and cars, so come prepared to participate in a tent city. To get dibs on the best spots, you may want to show up Friday night, or ASAP on Saturday.

I'll have horseshoes, and setup a croquet course from hell (plenty of obstacles, plus 'Beer in Hand' and 'Poison' rules will apply). There will also be lots of excellent hiking, fishing, and opportunities to just experience nature in all it's glory very close by. And the evenings, especially Saturday night, will almost certainly involve a raging bonfire. So, boredom should not be an issue. Campers should feel free to bring along other activates, such as bad mitten, lawn darts, or Frisbees. However, please leave CD players, DVD players, boom boxes, etc at home.

Suggested Supplies for Campers; Hershey Bars, Marshmallows, and Graham Crackers (the official food for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner at the Human Geocache is S'Mores), camp shovel and bucket, container for hauling water, plenty of beer or other beverage of choice, bug spray, other food to eat in case you get tired of S'Mores, utilities on which to cook that other food, tent, sleeping bag, toilet paper, etc. bug spray, FRS/GMRS radios (if you have them), your GPSr, bear spray, bug spray, binoculars (with optional 3D lense attachments), camera, firewood to contribute, and trash bags to help Cache In/Trash Out when it's all over.

Note: Due to a last minute coordinate change last year, at least one hunter was sadly unable to find the first step. Therefore, this years starting coordinates have been carefully chosen to hopefully prevent any need for changes. However, just in case, put this cache on your watch list if you're planning to attend. Updates will be posted as notes, so you should get alerted. Also, it might be wise to check the cache page right before heading out, just to make sure nothing has changed that you don't know about.
