This cashe is about a 10 minute walk on one of the trails. It should stay relatively easy as spring arrives.
The Lloyd Center offers:
A beautiful trail system through 55 acres of maritime forest bordering an estuary, and a view-scape recognized as one of 15 "Special Places" by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts;
The Lloyd Center sits on 55 acres of oak-hickory forest, freshwater wetlands, salt marsh, and estuary. Their five walking trails offer scenic views of Buzzards Bay, Demarest-Lloyd State Park, Mishaum Point, and the islands. Kettle holes, moraine, and a native American midden site, are several features their trails can offer.
Stop by the Lloyd Center's main building to get a copy of their trail guide and spend an afternoon exploring the biodiversity in this region! The Center's trails are open dawn to dusk, 365 days a year
To ensure that everyone can enjoy the coastal resources, the Lloyd Center charges no entrance fee to the building, or grounds They also encourage everyone, including the handicapped, to volunteer at the Lloyd Center and the opportunity to become personally involved in our coastal habitat environment, research and activities.
This cashe is a shoe box size plastic container with a blue lid. In the box – rain poncho, in case it’s not a nice day when you make your discovery, butterfly picture frame in case you take pictures while at this lovely place, a butterfly wind chime so the tinkling will remind you of your visit, a silk butterfly that can live inside with you, a butterfly eraser with glittery wings, a kaleidoscope to take home all the colors of nature you can see and a magnifying glass to get a closer look at little things you see along the trails. We hope to add trail guides that you can borrow in the future. Enjoy this WONDERFUL resource!!
