A multi touring basketball courts with a physical cache at the end. SECTION THREE for final
IT'S MARCH MADNESS, BAY-BEE!!!
Now time for some cache madness. This multi involves visiting several basketball courts in the city and answering a question about each one. The answers are assigned numbers to fill in the missing co-ordinates on the final location. Each set of co-ordinates A through H refers to a sign for the park, school, church etc. containing the outdoor basketball court. You must find the court yourself. Often, but not always, it is visible from the sign. The questions are usually easy, but involve a small amount of basketball knowledge and terminology. With your answers, fill in the blanks and head for the final four site (?) where you will find a large Rubbermaid rectangular container covered with black electrical tape. Inside it are four travel bugs, a $2 first to find prize, a Badd Companie type doo-rag, a package of basketball cards, a basketball whistle, and fifty state quarters representing the states of six of the elite eight (sorry Kansas and Oklahoma State are not yet available). (Alabama, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, North Carolina, and Ohio).
SOOOOOO.....You and yo' homeboys are settin' around the place chillin' and watchin' B-Ball action on the tube. One of you gets bored and says "Let's round up the gang and go shoot some hoops." You grab your hoodies, doo-rags, boom box and load into the cruiser to roam the 'hood looking for some hoops action. You know like Shirts and Skins, Make It Take It, Half Court, Check it after each score, Call your own fouls, Shoot for Teams, Each man for hisself. But you gotta have a ball and you gotta find an open court. You will have more fun with this if you take a basketball with you and try a shot. Also, you gotta have toonz: Rap, Hip Hop, Blues, Soul, Jazz, Rock, even disco is okay, but no classical, country, or polka. No way.
You go to A: 37N 42.189 97W 18.550When shootin a free throw, if Northwind is a cross wind, score 4, but if it is in yo face or watchin' yo' back side, score 8.
You go to B: 37N 42.336 97W 18.592AIR-BALL! AIR-BALL! AIR--BALL! Is there a fence to bounce it back to you? If so, save face and score 6. If no fence under basket, you're dissed, chase it yourself and score 1.
You go to C: 37N 43.065 97W 18.255WE'RE NUMBER ONE! On a scale of 1-8, where NUMBER ONE is best, where does this court rank compared to the others?
You go to D: 37N 43.046 97W 18.409Play the championship game here, instead of San Antoine, how many players on the court per goal? (Round your answer to the nearest whole number)
You go to E: 37N 43.195 97W 18.780You need to know the number of letters (plus one) in the first name of the player who is honored here. It is also the decade in which this player was an All American. (Even if you aren't shooting hoops otherwise, you'll have to get out of yo jalopy and read de sign).
You go to F: 37N 43.706 97W 18.218You need to count the number of goals here and add one.
You go to G: 37N 44.039 97W 17.629If you shot one shot at each goal from beyond the arc and no other shots and made 50%, how many points would you score?
You go to H: 37N 44.036 97W 18.498You need to know the number of goals here plus the number of nets here plus the number of free throws involved in an old fashioned three point play.
You got all these, you got GAME! You're on your way to the National Championship.
Take your numbers and plug them in like this:
37 N 4A.BCD 97 W 1E.FGHGood luck.
GO Jayhawks! (woops, too late, OT Bay-Bee!!!, but alas!) So, Go Cowboys!
