Geocache Description:

Trans Canada Trail - Caledon Section

A nice place to stop and take a break on our hike. We enjoyed this little stream that ran under the trail. A large cement culvert transfers the water from one side of the TCT to the other. This cache as Homer describes it is “Mmmmm Minty”. Yep. Just a little bit bigger then an Altoids tin folks. You will have to get down on your hands and knees to find this cache. The Trans Canada Trail is a network of trails linked together to forge one continuous trail from “Sea Unto Shining Sea”. Over 18078 km of trail winds it’s way through every Province and Territory of Canada. Ontario has over 4000 km of registered trail. The land on which the Trail is being built is a combination of crown, municipal and private land holdings. The Caledon section of the Trans Canada Trail, runs North South from Hwy 9 West of Blackstone, to Palgrave, to Caledon East across Highway 10 to Inglewood. Total length of the trail is 25.5km. A multi-use trail, it is used for hiking, cycling, horseback riding, cross country skiing and geocachers. The Caledon section of the Trans Canada Trail was once owned by the CNR and was known as part of the Grand Truck Railway. Built between 1877 and 1879, the Grand Trunk ran from Georgetown to Beeton, and then swung up to Meaford. The rail line was ceased offering of it’s services around 1958/59. So far we have hidden 9 caches in this series along the Caledon Trailway.Depending on the distance you want to travel for your caching experience.
