Located in the Seeps Lake area south of the Potholes Resevoir. Excellent recreation area of many lakes. Bring a fishing rod or lunch and enjoy the views. Parking is at N 46 56.133 W119 10.939 Or you can walk from the camping area at Canal Lake. August 20, 2004. I've replaced the micro with a ammo can and trade items and readjusted the cords. a bit. Walking distance is less than 2 miles round trip and most of the distance is on the old road until the last 250 ft.
This is about a 1.5 mile easy roundtrip hike to a butte that overlooks the Windmill Lake chain. You are looking for a 30 cal ammo box. You can see N.N. Windmill, N.Windmill and the tip of Windmill lake from here. If you continue east you can access several other walk in lakes that might give you a surprise with a large rainbow. If you are in a boat in the main part of Windmill Lake go to cordinates N 46 55.990 W119 10.410 and you will find a windmill that is under water and how this lake got it's name.
I was looking at the Map on Mapquest and see it doesn't show the right roads. Here are some driving directions that will get you in the area. From Mosses Lk, take Hy 17 south and turn on M-SE Rd. Just past the potatoe factory. Go on M-SE to Osullivan Dam Rd. 262 and turn left. Go about 1/4 mile to a right turn gravel rd. and signs that say Public Fishing and Seep Lakes. Follow your GPS from here. If coming from the south go about 4 miles NW of Othello on McManamon Rd. to a right hand turn onto a gravel road. I believe there is a Public Fishing sign, and you'll see the rules sign. It's about 5 miles on a bumpy, but good gravel road from both directions. Heart Lake and Canal Lake caches are nearby.
