This cache is located close to the Birchwood airport and shooting range. It's about a .5 mile hike through the woods on a well packed trail. You should be able to find year around.
Just after crossing the railroad tracks on N Birchwood Rd., take the next right on Stoltz Rd. Cross the Stoltz bridge and you will notice a well maintained trail off to the left. There is a wide shoulder with limited parking at this trail. Follow the main trail until you get to where the mouth of Peters Creek and the flats meet. Your GPS will try and guide you off to the right of the trail through the woods before you reach the flats, but please follow the main trail to the end and then follow the flats edge the rest of the way. This is a very pretty trail and has an awesome view of Peters Creek, the inlet and mountains. This is my first placement of a cache. The container is a green ammo can. Bears and moose have been known to visit these flats, so keep an eye out.
