Geocache Description:

Having exhibited sublime navigational and sleuthing skills, devilish camouflage techniques, warm regard for fellow cachers, and other fine qualities, the Geocachers Par Excellence listed below have been named Charter Inductees and Lifetime Members of the Southeast Texas Hall of Fame:

Babslover, Bfovo2, Billy H., Blackbelt, Bosun, Breaktrack, CacheAbels, Captain J, Cherokeecacher, Cinderloubug, Con-Tex Seekers, Dave77459 and Danny, DutchHorn, Dreamcachers, DRiley, ESP&N, Geek-Qualizer, GeoJewel, GeoSquirt, Geowyz, Gumby6472 and Pokey48, HodgeClan, Indianpoint, Jeep Girls, JimmyEv, JLG, Joyrose & Hubby, KingCach, Kingwood Pathfinder, La_Mudbug, Lgops, Love2Fly, MedTexPlacer, MoTexOutlaw, MudDobber, Muddy Buddies, Mudfrog and Chicken, Mustard Devil, Neuman, NightPilot, Pandy, ParkerPlus, Pavlos Xorofas, Peanuts, Pencil5757 and Green Eyes, PhulesAu, PicoFajita, Pineywoods Rooters, PitMasters, PlusOne, Pnew, Porterhill Gang, SamCachable, Shadow Cacher, SigJ, Snoogans, SoftballJunkies, Spaceman Spiff, Sp!ke, Team Countrystylin, Team Texas Coyote, Team Troglodyte, TerraTrekkers, The Creatures 3, ThePastor, The Simplers, Thumpmeister, Txsyank, Ty_Dolney, UsMorrows, Vertigo84m, Vetteman and Sharon, Wadacachers, Wild Cat Bud

These individuals and teams were selected based on a variety of criteria. Many are folks I have personally met, either at events or along the trails. Others have hidden particularly memorable caches enjoyed by myself or others. Some are Pineywoods denizens who have contributed to our enjoyment of the sport in one way or another. A handful of inductees are relative newbies (like me) who might not have many finds but who do have a high degree of enthusiasm. Others were recommended to me by well-regarded longtime cachers. If I’ve overlooked anyone who is worthy of inclusion, please let me know. And of course everyone, whether listed amongst the Inductees or not, is welcome to hunt the cache.

The above listed coordinates lie within Beaumont’s Tyrrell Park, open daily from 6am to 9pm. There you’ll find information redirecting you to a second and third location. At the third stage you'll discover a large primary ammo can and a smaller auxiliary ammo can. Bushwhacking will be minimal if you enter from the right direction, but be on the lookout for spider webs and patches of poison ivy as you approach the cache site.

Charter Inductees will find a customized certificate, printed on parchment paper and suitable for framing. Teams that maintain one gc.com account (ala Dreamcachers) will receive one certificate; those who maintain separate accounts (such as Captain J and Wild Cat Bud) will receive multiple certificates. When handling the certificates, please take extra care to protect them from raindrops, dripping sweat, and so forth.

The container also holds a selection of regular trade items, and I’ve launched a “Signature Item Exchange Post” with some of my custom rubbergrip pens and carbineers. If you have sig items, please leave a few for others to enjoy.

SPECIAL PRIZES

FTF Prize: Garmin eTrex Yellow GPSr, gently-used, batteries included (sorry, the manual is MIA).

2TF Prize: An 8.5x11-inch document frame in which to display your certificate, and a package of 8.5x11-inch Kodak Ultima Photo Paper to print your memorable caching photos.

In addition, the first twenty teams will find the cache surrounded by ferocious "Cache Guardians" (including one “Attack Bunny,” courtesy of Con-Tex Seekers). Please select your favorite item and take it home as a keepsake. One per team, please.

*** SPECIAL NOTE 5/3/2004 11:30AM ***

Due to the difficulty of keeping the original Stage Three (boardwalk) container in place, it has been eliminated. The cache no longer requires the one mile hike. The first two stages will give you the necessary information to continue.
