Small plastic container, well hidden from casual eyes. Easy Access from both N. and S. bound I-25.
75 million years ago, the "Front Range" did not look down over the Great Plains, but over a warm sea. The buttes and mesas along I-25 in Colorado are formed of limestone from the Age of Dinosaurs (the Mesozoic Era). These limestones contain marine fossils including clams, oysters, ammonites, and coral. Further west, at the shore of the ancient sea, in places like Canon City and West Denver, dinosaur tracks and bones have been found. And of course, the mountains yield precious minerals. If you have time on your wandering through the state, do some rockhounding! To get you started we've placed this specialty cache to be easily accessible to travelers. The original contents are ALL ROCKS: geodes, agates, tiger's eye, septarian nodule, brachiopods, fossil shark's teeth, and more. Some are polished, some are made into jewelry. Pick a "pretty"!The container is well camoflaged; please hide it again just as well, thanks!
