Geocache Description:

As with all of our caches there is NO BUSHWHACKING necessary to find the cache. There is no reason you need to leave the trail. Unfortunately to comply with the new Park policy, this cache was downsized to a micro.

History according to The Oregonian on April 2, 1934, Philip A. Marquam was "one of Portland's picturesque pioneers, prominent in the legal, economic, sporting, educational, and theatrical history of Portland." Marquam was a lawyer and a judge who owned the Fulton District, Marquam Hill, and what is now part of Riverview Cemetery. The Marquam trail was the final link in the westside trail system chain, making it possible to hike from the Sellwood Bridge to the St. Johns Bridge along preserved park trails. The parking coordinates we used are: N45 29.440 W122 41.186

"This cache complies with the geocaching policies for Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) properties. Please respect park hours when caching."
