Geocache Description:

NOT AT LISTED COORDINATES

IMMEDIATE DIRECTOR
SECRET/RESTRICTED HANDLING
WNINTEL

1. Debriefing of defector, code name GTCACHER, continues in safe house but the following actionable take will be of special interest:

A. GTCACHER knows of no immediate threats.

B. GTCACHER claims there is a mole in the U.S. intelligence service who is using dead drops to communicate with his handlers.

C. Dead drops are disguised as geocaches.

D. One dead drop is known as “NORTHRIDGE” and is thought to be in the Northridge neighborhood of Alexandria. It is thought to be a shoebox sized Rubbermaid container containing normal geocache items as well as a first finder certificate and prize.

E. Dead drop also contains stamp and stamp pad such as the type known to be used by Letterboxers to stamp their personal log. The stamp and stamp pad are not to be removed from the “geocache”.

F. Exact location of dead drop is unknown, but NSA reports intercepting an electronic communication thought to be the coordinates of the site. Text of the message is as follows:

YHXSEWDOLM

2. Believe it is most prudent to locate this dead drop and begin surveillance by sending out agents acting as “geocachers”. Under no circumstances should the dead drop be removed as this will tip off the mole.

3. Agents should sign logbook as normal geocachers and take or leave objects as deemed appropriate.

4. Agents should be on the lookout for clues as to the whereabouts of other dead drops. It is believed that such a clue is in this dead drop.

5. Further cables will be forwarded to headquarters when information on other dead drops is available. Until then, agents should record any clues they find. Such information should be considered classified and not shared with others.

6. No file. End of message.
