Look for the Dunes fishing access. There is a small parking area at the river. When facing the river head left through the pass through in the fence and have a nice walk through the Cottonwoods. Can also be reached from the river. Great area for birding in the spring and summer. Probably good idea to check for snakes before reaching for the ammo can, especially on a hot summer day.
Ammo can containing bottle of water, fishing lure, waterproof matches, poncho, carabiner, logbook and pen, and a few other small goodies.
