Neurosurgery is the field of medicine that deals with surgical
disease of the central and peripheral nervous systems and their
surrounding structures. This cache is dedicated to neurosurgeons
that have practiced in Mobile over the years. You will travel
sequentially to the gravesites of three neurosurgeons that have
practiced in Mobile and information from the first grave marker
will help you get to the next marker and so on and then to the
final cache which is a camouflaged PVC pipe container. All
gravesites are located in the Mobile area. The cemeteries are
closed at sunset. You will also need additional neuroanatomical
information that you can easily get from reference books or even
the internet to “fill in the gaps”. The above coordinates will get
you to the first marker.
Then you will need the following information for the second:
N 30 3A.BB7 W 088 0C.1DD
Where: A= The number of paired cervical nerves in the spinal
cord. BB= The date of Eric’s birth minus 1. C= The number of
letters in Eric’s middle name. DD= The sum of Eric’s month of birth
and death minus 2. There are a couple of other physicians buried
nearby at stage two so be selective.
The third marker is located at:
N 30 EE.F49 W 088 0G.2HH
Where: EE= The sum of the number of cervical and thoracic
vertebrae times the number of the cranial nerve responsible for
vision. F= The cranial nerve responsible for olfaction. G= The
number of letters in Bobby’s middle name. HH= Last two digits of
Bobby’s year of birth plus 4.
The cache is then located at:
N 30 3J.4KK W 088 LL.M21
Where: J= The number of letters in Bill’s last name minus 1. KK=
Bill’s age when he died minus the number of the cranial nerve that
innervates the stapedius muscle. LL= Bill’s month of death minus
his month of birth. M= The cranial nerve responsible for
hearing.
The container is a camouflaged PVC pipe type and a photograph of
the container is provided below. It has a limited volume, so large
objects can’t be exchanged. I have used Teflon tape on the threads
to help seal the container against moisture. There is a roll of
Teflon tape in the container and if the threads need retaping
please help me in that respect. Please replace the container
exactly as you found it with the lid facing downward. Please let me
know if the container needs maintenance. Good luck!
