Geocache Description:

Hike or bike up to a lovely meadow in the coast range.

Beazell Memorial Forest is Benton County's newest and largest park. It is a self-sustaining managed conservation forest, which will be occasionally thinned or logged to provide proceeds for park maintenance. Trails are open to hikers, bikers and horses year round. I did recieve permission from the county to place this cache. At the signboard near the parking area, read the bittersweet story of Fred and Dolores Beazell and their love of this place.

Take the gravelled South Meadow Loop trail. When you reach the grassy logging road, go left heading uphill, and find the cache above the big meadow. It is a 2 mile round trip with an elevation gain of about 650 feet. The cache is an ammo box at the summit. This is the second cache I have placed at this park, the first one on the Plunkett Creek trail was looted, and a new cache appeared on the same trail before I had a chance to replace mine. This cache is on a less used trail that offers spectacular views of Marys Peak and the coast range, and solitude. After making your trade, please recover it so it can not be seen from the trail!
