This multicache is designed to lead the visitor on a brief tour through the heart of the Eastern Illinois University campus. Although visitors are more than welcome, be forewarned that nearby legal parking is at a premium during class days.
The initial coordinates will direct you to the campus gateway. By choosing a digit at each of the seven designated locations, you will construct the coordinates for the location of the cache which is a brown painted match container that contains the log sheet. The final coordinates are: N 39° 2A.BCD W 088° 10.EFG. B = second digit of the oldest date on the university seal. Go south to the Old Main entrance. G = last digit of the year of Mr. Lord’s final chapel service. Go to bench just south of Old Main. C = fifth digit on Napoleon’s marker. Go south to the Commemorative Courtyard to a bench. A = final digit on the Botany Dept's dates engraved on concrete bench. Go west across busy road to main entrance of Lantz. E = last digit of dedication date on statue. Go southeast to south side of Lumpkin Building. D = last digit of the first year of Ted’s tenure as dean. Go northeast to garden south of greenhouse. F = last digit of the year of the passing of Dr. Krehbiel. Go somewhere to find the cache.
