Nearly Ruined Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

kyaker: Sadly this one is now as ancient history as the old winery it was near. The City had to clear the area of brush to keep the creek flowing and the cache, as well as its hiding place, is now gone.

Geocache Description:

Near a new subdivision in Cloverdale. The cache is hidden a short distance off of an asphalt pathway.

DO NOT PARK ON HOT SPRINGS RD. This is an ammo box hidden beside a very nice (and short) walking path along a creek. If you want to walk the length of the path, park at Furber Park.We haven't seen them, but watch out for snakes when you leave the pathway.

The ruins are of an old winery. The winery was two stories tall and was owned by Elbridge Furber. From this site east all the way to Cloverdale Blvd was the Furber ranch. Here they grew grapes, prunes, citrus, and walnuts. The Furbers had a large home next to the winery, where the subdivision is now.
