This cache is found in an area that was discovered by a friend of mine in the early 1970’s. He described it as an area that might be a local Shangri-la. His words as I remember were: “Coming out of the dark shadows on a rainy day, a sudden shaft of sunlight penetrated the gloom. The sunlight sparkled off the falling raindrops and illuminated the droplets of moisture lying on the mossy covered rocks. It was as if an emerald green carpet was scattered with diamonds and made me hesitant to fade back into the darkness.”The above coordinates will lead you to the first of five waypoints. At this waypoint you will be able to look west upon the country that will be your area of search. All of the waypoints (except for the third) are black 35 mm film canisters. The fourth waypoint (and the cache itself) is the only one that has an object over it to hide it. The others will just take some looking, an observant eye, and the hints from each preceding waypoint. The fifth waypoint will give you coordinates and hints for the cache location itself which it a clear Rubbermaid container. The cache contents are the usual trade items plus a Barnes & Noble first finder gift certificate. At no point is it necessary to tear apart rock piles, stumps, logs, etc. so try to leave the area as natural looking as you found it.You will be able to drive within approximately 0.25 miles of the first waypoint. After this the search will be mainly walking but if desired there is a small stretch that you can also drive. Your search will take you approximately 3 hours depending on your skills, luck, and sense of adventure. Maybe longer! Your walking distance will be about 3 miles if you leave your vehicle at the starting point.Remember, as always when exploring unknown country, be prepared for the unexpected. Let someone know your plans, where you are going and expected time of return and don’t go by yourself. Be prepared to spend the night if the unexpected occurs. This is rough country and a good pair of boots is suggested and a strong light is necessary. In fact, I always carry a back-up light for emergencies. The last stage of this cache is not recommended for small children or dogs. While appearing somewhat intimidating it is entirely safe if prepared. Good Luck! and have fun!!!!!!!!!
