This cache has been archived.

offline.cacher: The general rule reviewers use to archive a cache is that the cache owner has been notified (through a log entry) by the reviewer and that no response has been forthcoming. This is the case with this cache. As a result it has been archived.
If the owner would like to discuss this issue, please contact me through my geocaching.com profile. Include the GC code for the cache.

Geocache Description:

This theme cache is one of several located just outside of Wytheville, Virginia.

This cache is very close to exit #47 off of I-77 (just south of Big Walker Tunnel) if you are passing through the Wytheville area.

Most of us have music CDs that are gathering dust and haven’t been listened to in many years. I’ve decided to start a cache with some of mine. The container is a standard military ammo box. Please help to keep to the theme of “Music CDs” only (plus the occasional Travel Bug of course). If you take one, then leave one. Downloaded mix CDs are also welcome, as long as the songs are labeled on it somehow.

I have placed the cache in the Stony Fork picnic and RV campground that is located on Scenic Highway RT-717. You can drive through the campground to check it out, but before searching for the cache, in order to avoid the camping fee, I suggest parking on the side of the road at the entrance to the campground (N 37 00.614’ W 081 10.867’), and walking in on foot. (During the off-season, the gate is closed and you will have to do this anyway).

There is usually a park “Host” at the first spot as you walk in, and another at RV slot #36 near the nature trail. Feel free to chat with them if they are in, and ask any questions about the area if you wish. (They know about the cache, but can’t tell you where it is).

The cache is located near the foundation remains of an old house, just a few hundred feet down the Stony Fork Nature Trail that loops in and out of the park. The 1-mile long trail is well marked, and starts near RV slot #32 and ends back at #44. There is a big map as you come into the campground. (NOTE: The trail is a “loop”. To avoid walking the long, long way….be sure to choose wisely where to start.)

The original CDs included:Several Children’s Song CDs, The Lion King, Rock-a-Bye Baby, Plus some by Basia, Paul Young, the Questionairs, some Jazz CDs and a few others.
