Geocache Description:

Tom Kityama Elementary School and Town Estates Park

In 1971 when my parents bought a home in this neighborhood the School and this section of the park was covered in run down greenhouses owned by city politician Tom Kityama. At that time there was a promise to convert this old nursury to an elementary school. So my parents bought in thinking their kids could walk to school. As with all governmental bureaucracies, the school and completion of the park took over 30 years (1995 for the school) and was finally completed in April of 2004 with a resurfacing of the basketball courts. I welcome you to the area that held host to many of the exploits of my misspent youth. My how time changes things!

The Cache is an Altoids tin painted black and hidden in the park near the border of the school playing fields. When placed it contained a Geonote, a log sheet, a pencil, some beads, and a keychain.

I hope you enjoy this cache!

Peace!
