Tsuh-Kahs Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

brodiebunch: One of the postings on this cache's page and an email from a long time local geocacher reported of the river bank's slow collapse. Today I checked up on the cache and while it was good condition, its probably only a matter of time before the section that conceals the caches collapses too. IMO there are not any viable places in this park for non micro geocache which is our preferred size to hide. This cache has been somewhat of a problem child in the past so we decided to archive this geocache.

Brodiebunch still has about dozen long surviving geocaches in Seattle waiting to be found.

Geocache Description:

The sun has set on Tsuh-Kahs...................

One of the few public shore accesses on the east bank of Duwamish river. Also site of a Duwamish Indian village.

The cache is located on what was once known by the Duwamish Indians as "Tsuh-Kahs" or Muddy Island. This island is now covered with marsh vegetation. On the island was a village that archeologists believe was there as early as 600 AD. There is a more detailed story board about the Duwamish Indian at this little park.

The park looks like a place where blue collars folks lunch, kayakers load/unload and homeless folk may nap. You want to look around/over your shoulder once you've found the cache. The cache is a container painted brown/green with some geocaching stickers on it and is approachable from the beach. Hiding the cache exactly the way you found it will help prolong its life. GPS had 6-7 satellites showing up but please post any coordinate variations.
