This is a little more challenging, multi-stage geocache that starts in Sunriver.
This multi-stage cache starts in Sunriver. You cannot park on any of the streets of Sunriver. Legal parking is at N 43 degrees 53.443', W 121 degrees 25.703'. This is a walking or mountain biking geocache with a total distance traveled of about 6 or 7 kilometers (including the trip back to the start). Do not attempt to drive from one stage to the next. It will help to have a map of the Sunriver bike paths. Free maps are often available at kiosks located along several roads in Sunriver. Note that most of these maps have west at the top, instead of the usual north. It will help to understand latitude and longitude as you do this geocache. The first stage of this geocache is a large engraved fishing lure located about 1.5 meters high on a tree. For many years this was a 3-step geocache. During the summer of 2016, as part of the thinning of trees to reduce fire danger, they cut down the tree that held the second step of the cache. The clue there was "the cache is located 0.300 minutes north and 0.300 minutes east". Given this clue, after you find the first step of the cache, you can either go to the area it points you to (it is a nice place along the river), or just do the math to find the site of the final geocache. The geocache itself is a green ammo can on the ground. There are no special hazards involved here, except that the geocache is located fairly close to a barbed-wire fence. Note that you do not need to cross this fence to reach the cache.
