Loch CachNess Monster Traditional Cache

11/27/04: Maintenance check. Looks fine!

In the fall of 2003, a tired and burned out monster from Scotland was out swimming when he came across an ‘Escape to Wisconsin’ brochure in the water. Because of all the corporate cutbacks and outsourcing, he was really overworked being a ‘People Eater’ and asked for a vacation and some personal time. It had been at least three years since his previous vacation when he swam over to Sweden and devoured their Bikini Team.

He grabbed his underwater proof GPS unit and Lochy (as his friends called him) swam out through the hidden underground rivers to the ocean, up the St. Lawrence seaway and into the Great Lakes. Lochy devoured much in the way of WI cheese, brats and Milwaukee beer. Unfortunately, he got too drunk one night and lost his GPS. He has been stuck in Long Lake ever since.

BEWARE! Lochy is desperate to steal another GPS unit so he can go back home. WARNING! Don’t let Lochy see you holding your GPS. Keep your back to the lake. If you hear a big splashing noise and see a large monster coming out of the water wearing a Green Bay Packer sweatshirt, run as fast as you can! Notice the lack of houses on the east side of the lake? Lochy has been chasing lot surveyors hoping to steal their gear.

This park has a VERY busy boat ramp. Lots of good fishing, tubing and water skiing. It’s a NO WAKE lake from 6 PM to 11 AM. The park is closed from 11 PM to 6 AM. It has a rustic bathroom and a fishing dock. Nice benches along the lake front. I have seen people swimming near the shore. No campfires, no camping. Great view of sunsets over the water. Watch the barn swallows swoop over the lake. Park at the east end of the parking lot.

This cache is a camo ammo box. Initial cache contains: 3-prong receptacle tester, decorative metal picture frame, new whoopee cushion, package of washable markers, Hotel Key card TB, black cherry candle, Kiwi shoe polish, keychains and a snake toy.
