Stairway to Cache Traditional Cache
Argus2: When I first placed this cache here almost 20 years ago, this place was quite awesome. It was a new, well groomed trail with nice wooden steps located in four different areas for access. It offered a pleasant relaxing walk beside the peaceful brook.
I was over today to check on the cache and although I knew this trail had been abandoned over the years... it's now an overgrown track for larger off-road vehicles. Not sure why it was left for nature to reclaim. The appeal from all those years ago is lost so it's time to archive this one.

As I was placing the cache near the brook, a bird was singing its heart out in a nearby tree and it was uncanny how it reminded me of a line in a song from the 70's. That line is also a good hint if you know what comes before- " ...there's a songbird who sings...". If you aren't familiar with it and want the hint, you can get the lyrics easily from the Internet. You won't need to be buying any "stairway to heaven", although there are four stairways you can go by (from different places), but in the long run, they all end up on the same path.
This cache is situated in a 1600 acre industrial park that was further expanded in the mid '90s. Part of the expansion included this walking trail by the brook. It's unfortunate though that time and vehicles have taken its toll from the walking trail it used to be. Please note that parking on the side of MacNaughton could be dangerous from the many trucks that whizz by. It's a through-way with no intended parking. If you bring kids, dogs or even if you are by yourself, it's safer to park in a nearby parking lot and walk the few extra meters to the main starting point, although there are actually a few access points to the trail. One good one is near the little Bell-Aliant building.
