Geocache Description:

As of 1 July 2016, this cache has 1000 finds!

This cache is an easy walk from the parking area. Log only. Bring your own pen. I fashioned this cache in just a few moments as I was in the area. You will need to take the Rest Area exit to the Texas Welcome Center. Follow the parking lot to get parked fairly close to the cache.

I love this sign.

I love my state. I love Texas. It is home. I am not a native Texan. I was born and raised in Mississippi. I moved to Texas about nineteen years ago, and now I claim it as my home. It probably always will be.

When I visit family in Mississippi, they ask me if I miss Mississippi. Sure, I miss some things sometimes (especially them), but I love Texas. Texas is where I want to be.

Almost every time I drive out of state, it seems such a long haul, at least to me. Nine, ten, eleven hours on the road. But when coming back home, when I see this sign, which is on the westbound side of I-20, I feel good. I know that it won't be long before I can stop driving, and sit outside in the yard and drink a beer. A Texas beer. At home. In Texas.
