Geocache Description:

Located in the Sproul State Forest, these Falls are on a beautiful native trout stream.

Your journey will begin on the Quehanna Highway about 2 1/2 miles past Boot Camp. At the following coordinates. N 41.12.714 W078.09.935. You will turn on to a gravel road. Follow this road for 8.78 miles. The majority of the distance the road is graveled. There is a section in the middle that is not. Small cars will have to use caution on this section. The entire road is a Forest Service Road. The road has potholes and washboard sections, but is drivable with most vehicles, even small cars. Drive slowly. You should also be on the lookout for Deer, Turkey, Bear and if you are lucky an Elk. “Around” 8.78 miles from the Quehanna Highway you will turn left on another road.( Round Island Road ) Go about 1.66 miles and park near the symbol for American Freedom. It's a camp sign!( Camp Liberty Bell ) Do not block any camp driveways!

From this point go past the camp down to the stream. You do not need to cross the stream but follow it closely! THIS IS A HINT! Follow the stream, you do not need bushwack. You will be on a path and then an old Tram Road. You will be just outside the largest Wild Area in Pennsylvania. You should come prepared. There are no McDonald’s or Gas stations and cell phones don’t work. In fact GPS reading are sometimes tough near the cache. Stay in the sunshine when you can.

When you get close to the cache do not take the first obvious decent, unless you feel particularly daring, go about another 170’ ( 77 paces ) for a more gradual access. The Cache is a large green ammo box.

Make a little noise and carefully check before reaching for the box, just to make sure nothing else is in the hiding place. No matter when you make it to the Cache you will be richer, in one-way or another, for the Experience..

If you missed it on the way in, check for the big chimney just to the left of the Big Chimney Camp, near where you parked. Also watch for Purple Trillium ( they stink ), Painted Trillium and Lady Slippers. The Rhododendron will usually bloom about the middle of June. Native Trout fishing may be good below the falls.

Be sure to put the cache back just as you found it.DO NOT leave any food, or liquids that will freeze, in the Cache!!!
