This is a paddlers cache, your gonna need a boat. NO IC MOTORS ALLOWED ON THE LAKE! Electric OK.
You will need to park at the public launch at N41° 34.956 W73° 07.456 and head into the water. It is about .25 miles across the water to the island. Please remember that the launch area and the islands on the lake are public, that water is yours to explore, but the all the rest of the land here is private. I have always liked this area because there is public access that few know about so it is sort of a hidden gem. When you are out on the water you can almost forget that this is Connecticut and imagine that you are someplace simpler.Be aware that sometimes at night this is party island so you will need to wear your shoes on the land. Also please try to take something back besides what you find in the cache every piece of trash removed is one less. Unlike the first finder please remember that if you are going out on the water especially alone, please file a float plan. :-)
