The first in a series of caches located on or close to the Sandstone Trail.
This cache is located a short distance from the Sandstone Trail, a long distance trail running 32 miles across Cheshire from Frodsham to Whitchurch. The area is known as Primrosehill Wood, a lesser-visited extension of Delamere Forest, popular with orienteers. The cache itself is a tupperware container in a camouflage bag and contains the usual collection of goodies. The best place to park is at N53 12.315 W002 41.815 and then just follow the main forest track. The cache is about three quarters of a mile away from the parking area. Although this is a forest trail the path is wide and there are many clearings so there should be no problems with signal coverage. The main track is also child and pram friendly.
As an alternative to retracing your steps you can turn right on to the path near to the cache (you will know it when you see it) which takes you diagonally up to a field edge. Follow the edge of the field right until you reach a stile where you can cross into the field. You will then meet up with the Sandstone Trail. Follow the trail up through three fields until you come out on to the road by the Summer Trees Tea Room. Leave the Sandstone Trail here by turning right on the road. In a few hundred yards turn right again into Waste Lane. From here it is just under half a mile back to the parking area. A nice round trip of about two and a half miles. Note that if you follow this round trip walk rather than retracing your steps it is not so suitable for prams.
