Geocache Description:

The cache is located in a very historic area which is not visited often enough because it is "off the beaten path".

The site is about 200 yards from the road. The walk to the site is really "breath-taking". Check out the names and dates at the site. They will have more meaning if you visit some of the other historic markers in the area. The dates will take you back to some very early Missouri history. The Cache is an ammo box and is about 20 yards to the right of the historic site. It should be an easy find. It is not meant to be difficult. The purpose is to bring you to a location you might have otherwise missed. The original Cache contains travel bugs, a Geocoin and lots of key chains, etc. This entire area is located on a segment of the Lewis and Clark Trail, which is getting much attention during 2004. If you like history as much as caching, you will want to complete the series of 5 caches. Stop #3 is just 1.4 miles from here.
