Situated on a footpath that crosses Kempsey Common - an ancient
common still used for sheep grazing and horse riding (as well as
walking of course). Gentle up-hill walk of less than 1 mile round
trip from the suggested parking.
The cache is up on Kempsey Common which enjoys wonderful views of
the Malvern Hills and Worcester Cathederal. Lots of footpaths
criss-cross it but being a common you are free to wander anywhere
(as are the sheep and ponies). Beware the gorse bushes.
Suggested parking is at the free Common car park next to the
Farmers Arms pub at N52 07.963, W002 11.856. Don't try and access
it from the M5! Access is from the A38 south of Kempsey, follow the
brown signs to the pub. Alternatively you can walk to the common
from many other directions.
The cache is a small 1.6l sandwich box so don't take anything too
large to put in.
The cache is off the main common and not in full view but please be
discrete and don't draw attention to yourselves and make sure it's
well hidden from both sides. The
cache has been relocated as of 26/07/08. Beware the barbed wire at
the new location, it won't cause a problem, just be careful. The
re-location is only temporary and we shall move it again
soon.
