Geocache Description:

This hide replaces the Clinton POW cache first put out by Dersu. It was stolen in 2003 but this place has a lot of history to fall by the wayside. This area was home to German prisoners during WWII. They also built a working scale model of the Mississippi river basin here that the Army Corp of Engineers studied and incorporated into later models to study flood control. Cache is a cammied ammo can with a modest first finder prize inside. The area is open 7 days a week but it does close at dark, no admission fee. If you're lucky ya'll can catch the radio controlled airplanes on saturdays. It might be a tad rough after a rain, and skeeters and the occasional snake have been seen in this area. For more information on this area, Google "Camp Clinton" as it was known during the war, there are several references to it.
