Geocache Description:

This cache is located in a little known St Charles County Park. The views from this park across the Mississippi River are spectacular year round (especially at sunrise in October). St. Charles County acquired this site as flood buy-out property following the flood of 1993. Prior to 1993 it was an private harbor with docks, boat ramps, fishing lake, and rest rooms, now it's all public

The first set of coordinates will take you to a sign, read the sign to find some #’s

A Bald Eagle grows its distinctive white feathers on its head and tail at “A” - “B” years of age

Now look along the river front to the left of the sign. There are “C” green benches facing the river

Have a seat on one of the benches, and do a little Math:

B – C = Z
C – Z = X
B + C = V
C x C = U
C x Z = T
A - A = S (duh)

Replace the letters with their corresponding # below to get the coordinates for the 2nd Cache:

NCV° BT.XUX WUS° ZX.UZV

The final destination is a 1 gallon plastic jar. No particular theme. The original swag content is: Squirt guns, Balloons & Punching balls, Superman Travel Bug, Purple Iwanago Travel Bug, Dinosaurs, frogs, monkeys & lizards

Log book and Pen are in a ziplock baggie with a copy of the required St. Charles County parks special use permit. Please be sure to return them to the cache when you’re through, and return the cache so it cannot be seen by muggles.

The terrain is all flat, and both caches should be wheelchair accessible. Try to picture what it was like in 1993 with 20’ of water over your head.

Park hours are 7A-10P, and dogs are welcome but must be on an 8' lead. WARNING: the mosquitoes get hungry around sunset

* Permission has been granted and a Special Use permit has been obtained.

Note: This area is prone to flooding, and in that case, it will not be accessable. If it's been raining a lot, you may want to check the link below. If it shows that the water level on the Mississipi river at Grafton is above 21' there is a chance it will not be accessable.

Beware!! Poison Ivy thrives around here...
