This cache is at the gate to the Ohlone Wilderness Area. It's as far as you can take your bike, should you choose to employ that mode of transportation for the first part of your journey.
Consider this spot the gateway to the difficult caches beyond. It's quite a climb from here up to the Wilderness Area! You'll need a permit to enter the Wilderness Area; get it back at the Sunol Ranger Station. Costs $2.00, but you get a great map.
The cache is near to the location of an archived cache, but it is not in the same place that one was. So don't waste your time looking there!
