BLACKPATCH HILL Traditional Cache

Cache is hidden close to the top of Blackpatch Hill, nr Patching. It can be accessed from several directions depending on how energetic you are feeling.
Nearest parking for 1-2 cars approx 3/4 mile away @ N50º51.786' W000º26.873' at end of public road. From here it is a reasonable walk along public footpath to the top of the hill.
If you prefer to stretch your legs then you use car park at Springhead Hill (TQ 0690 1050) and follow South Downs Way to the east and then public footpath south to Blackpatch Hill, this route will also allow you to bag trigpoints on Kithurst Hill and Blackpatch Hill.
The top of Blackpatch Hill near the trig pillar is use by model aircraft enthusiasts as an airfield and you can watch them whilst enjoying the views.The fields NW of Blackpatch Hill were the crash site of a German fighter bomber during WWII and the army used the area between Blackpatch and Kithurst for practising tank busting.
The cache is a 7" square lunchbox wrapped in a black bin liner containing on placement:
Battery fan, Giant Peg, Snoopy toy, copper bangle, sewing machine ornament, millenium makers collector coins, fortune telling cards, Microsoft Scenes 2.0/Word 6.0/Access 2.0 CD Rom and the usual logbook pen and pencil. The cache is also the starting point for "Bug Eyed Jester TB".
