Hydrocache & Picnic Spot Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

nda24098fvlksjh: I'm archiving this one...it was one of my first caches, but it's not in a "take your breath away" location, so I'm letting survival of the fittest cache policy deal with it...

Geocache Description:

A hydrocache in the Adirondacks, for those warm summer days

This cache is underwater. You don't need scuba gear, but a mask might be helpful (although you can probably find it wearing tevas and a swimsuit using the "grope and grab" method if you trust your GPS unit). Please be careful detaching the cache from the anchor, so that you will be able to reattach it after you have logged your visit.

The cache is a watertight (insert chuckle here) container inside a green stuff sack roped to an anchor. There is a float attached to the anchorline to help keep it floating for reattachment.

For either before or after you find the cache there is a nice picnic spot at: (N 44 20.862, W 074 16.665)

Park at coords: N 44 20.84, W 074 16.66

It seems obvious, but this cache should not be attempted when there is ice covering the surface of the water.

Be prepared for muckiness! Good water-shoes are a must. I would recommend not entering the water from the grassy spot, but working over along the shore to the right first.
