Follow the beach on the way out, it is about 1.6 miles. When you
are getting close take note of the small road heading into the
woods on the left. I would suggest taking this road on the way
back. Take the road (may have to wade in water up to a foot deep
for 30')and hang the first left. That will be a nice and easier
walk right back to the lot. Motor vehicles are "NOT" allowed back
there, the DNR will thump you if you get caught and they do patrol
this.
The cache is a black ammo can about 12"x5". It's original contents
were a few lottery tickets, a travel bug, some pc games, a hat you
won't find anywhere around here and lots of other things. There is
an old cabin around there somewhere but Logan and I were unable to
find it or the cache would be there. The woods are ceadar and they
can get thick so we didn't find it. Maybe you can find it. Walking
the shoreline from Rockport to Bell Bay is about 3.5 miles. This is
one of the few places left with no houses at all. If you are up
caching and have only one vehicle you can e-mail me in advance and
we can make arrangements for you to call me with your cell phone
when finished and I could pick you up and give you a ride back to
your vehicle, I live close. I’m not always around so advance
arrangements is a must. You can always team up with other cachers
and park a vehicle at one end. The parking at Bell Bay is called
“Besser Bell Recreation Area” Rockport is a DNR managed boat
launch. If you have any questions about the area or need directions
feel free to e-mail me. Happy Caching!
