This cache is hidden on Hooper Bald, accessible from the Cherohala skyway. Be aware that the parking area is small, with space for only a few cars, and can be full during peak times. The walk is just over 0.5 miles each way with slight elevation changes. The trail is wide and graveled and can be very busy in warmer months. Pack a small lunch and enjoy the views from the top.
Because the bald can be very busy, this cache is hidden well. Please be sure to hide it as good as or better than you found it, or it will disappear. Also, try to avoid creating any sort of trail to the cache and take care not to mash any nearby vegetation. The cache is an ammo can hidden just below the ridgeline at the edge of the field. You should not have to go more than a few feet into the brush. Be careful, since some of the plants near the cache can be thorny. The cache was hidden with 3m (9 feet) accuracy.
