Hello Campagnolo,

I was looking at a few local caches and could not help but to notice that your cache has been in need of serious repair nor for several months. These has been no mention of making repairs on the cache page. Apparently the container has a physical problem of some sort and the cache is destroyed. Normally they start out as a minor nuisance and then the problems just seem to grow from there. At any rate,I know that our lives are always quite hectic but could you pop over and give this one a look? This should have been repaired a long time ago. I am archiving this cache until repairs are made. If you choose not to repair this cache, please remove the remaining cache bits from the area. Please post a log and pop me a note when the container has been repaired so I can remove this one from a growing list and unarchive this cache.

Thanks for your contributions to Geocaching.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located close to what was the runway at the old Strafford Airport.

This area has undergone some development in recent years, so it really doesn't resemble where an old airport once stood. To the west of where the cache is located was the run way. It stretched from FR 84 to just south of where the cache is located. If you look on FR 84, there is a new road there where the runway once stood. To the NW of the cache once stood a hangar that resembled a large tin building. There was a yellow office building that we used as our club house as children growing up, and vandals would use to write things about the assistant principle that once tortured students at Strafford High School. There was a small radio tower located next to the yellow office building. It is all gone now, and about the onlyl thing that reminds anyone that an airport was once there is the road next to it named airport road.
The Cache is a rubbermaid container. It is clear and gold. The original contents are as follows: Lance Armstrong Postcard, Lance Armstrong Livestrong bracelet for the Lance Armstrong Foundation to help raise $5,000,000 for cancer research, a portable radio with ear buds, a picture of Split Rock, a travel bug with quotation book, and a log book.
