Geocache Description:

The Nature Conservancy has placed nearly 50 painted, fiberglass buffalo in Oklahoma City, in a fund-raising effort to support the Conservancy’s mission. Corporations, foundations, civic groups, merchants, and individuals have sponsored these mighty beasts and each has been uniquely painted and decorated by a select artist. The buffalo is the Oklahoma state animal and is the perfect ambassador for this project. For more information on this project and a listing of the location of all of the buffalo check this link. (Spirit of the Buffalo)

Grab your camera and join The Last Great Buffalo Hunt. The objective is to find and catalog each and every one of the buffalo. When you find one of these not-so-rare beasts record it's location with your GPS and take two photos – one of the buffalo and one of the identification plate with your GPS. Also make note of the name of the buffalo, location (building and/or street address), sponsor, and artist. See the first (earliest) log below for an example. Be sure and record the coordinates in your log.

Please only one FOUND IT log per person and only one find per buffalo. However, due to the large number of buffalo you can catalog up to three of the beasts in your log if you would like.

The coordinates above are for “Buffalo Nickel”. I’ve claimed “Buffalo Nickel” in the first log below (June 4) as an example of the information that is required.

Please include both photos. Since photos can be obtained on the internet - logs without photos that include your GPS will be removed after 2 weeks. That should be plenty of time for those without digital cameras. If you find your log deleted it may be due to the missing photo.

I got the idea for this cache from a similar cache in Tulsa - "Penguin Project". Thanks Beatnik for the idea.
